The first meeting of the new year was held a week later than normal due to the ice and snow that fell the week before. Frank, K4FMH gave a program on digital radio and hotspots and how these hotspots can be used to connect anywhere in the world on multiple modes. He demonstrated how a person can connect to the ICQ Podcast talkgroup regardless of the digital mode used and everyone could communicate. The ICQ Podcast talkgroup was used for demonstration purposes as there is almost no other talkgroup that can bridge across as many different modes as they do. He also showed several different hotspots that could be used for this purpose. We enjoyed a very informative presentation and many questions followed.
