The Vicksburg Amateur Radio Club will host a National Weather Service
Skywarn Spotter Training session on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Goldie’s Trail Bar-B-Que,
located at 2430 S Frontage Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
The evening will begin with a brief Vicksburg Amateur Radio Club business meeting at
6:00 PM, followed immediately by the Skywarn training. Those who wish to enjoy a meal
beforehand (Dutch treat) are encouraged to arrive as early as 5:00 PM.
Mr. Mike Hill from the National Weather Service will lead the training session, which is
free and open to the public. Skywarn Spotter Training equips participants with vital
knowledge to identify and report severe weather conditions such as tornadoes, hail, and
damaging winds—information that is crucial for timely warnings and public safety.
This event is part of the Vicksburg Amateur Radio Club’s ongoing commitment to supporting community emergency preparedness and communications.
